Julia’s House CEO discusses the impact of losing a child in Forest Holme Hospice Charity’s latest ‘Life & Loss’ podcast episode
The penultimate episode of the current ‘Life & Loss’ podcast series has just been released by Forest Holme Hospice Charity featuring an interview with Martin Edwards, Chief Executive for Julia’s House, who shares his knowledge and insights on bereavement, remembrance and finding a way forward when a child has died.
The 21-part groundbreaking series, which launched earlier this year, provides valuable insights, advice and resources for those living with a life-limiting illness or are experiencing the complex journey of grief. In the latest episode Hannah O’ Hare, CEO of Forest Holme Hospice Charity, discusses with Martin the emotions parents and family members might experience in the early days of grief and how it evolves over time. He also offers advice and guidance on coping with anniversaries and birthdays and ways families can commemorate their child’s life.
The series brings together individuals of different ages and backgrounds with unique first-hand experiences, alongside healthcare professionals, to share their stories, knowledge, information and strategies for coping with the many challenges associated with life-limiting illnesses and grief. The series has proved so popular, Forest Holme has confirmed that it has been recommissioned for a second series.
Life & Loss’ episodes are released on a weekly basis and subjects covered so far have included ‘What Does Dying Look Like’, ‘Living With A Brain Tumour’, ‘The Importance Of End-Of-Life Care Planning’ and ‘Finding Purpose Through Loss’.
