Dorset Chamber and law firm join forces

Monday, June 3, 2024

Law firm Lester Aldridge is leading the way with renewed support for Dorset Chamber.

It has signed up as a Premier Business Partner with the county’s leading business support organisation for another year.

Lester Aldridge is one of just two organisations in the top tier of membership at the chamber along with Premier League football club AFC Bournemouth.

A full-service law firm with offices in Bournemouth, Southampton and London, Lester Aldridge is in the process of merging with Mackrell Solicitors. The proposed merger is set to complete in September and will result in a combined workforce of over 400, giving it a strong presence in all three locations and, additionally, a new office in Birmingham.

Dorset Chamber, the county’s voice of business, has nearly 700 members representing 37,000 employees. It was founded in 1949 and celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.

Dorset Chamber chief executive Ian Girling said: “Lester Aldridge has been one of our strongest supporters during its longstanding membership of nearly 40 years.

“Its progressive values, focus on wellbeing and commitment to diversity match our own mission of enabling better lives through business and our belief in business as a force for good.

“We have a close bond and are thrilled that the firm has agreed to continue as a Premier Business Partner in what promises to be a very special year with our 75th anniversary celebrations.”

Lester Aldridge has thrown its weight behind the chamber’s highly acclaimed wellbeing initiatives of recent years.

It is also a Premier Partner for the chamber-organised Dorset Business Festival for the second year running.

Partner Grant Esterhuizen said: “We have a vibrant, successful and supportive business community in Dorset and much of that is due to the chamber.

“It epitomises all that is good about business in Dorset. We’re proud to be a premier partner and play our part in helping the chamber to make a difference to businesses, lives, communities and our local economy.”

The Dorset Chamber Business Partner programme is for companies which wish to make a greater contribution to the chamber and the growth of the local economy.

As well as two Premier Business Partners, it also has 21 Platinum Business Partners and a variety of membership tiers from entry level through to associate, depending on a business’ needs.
